The Perks of Being a Wedding Planner ('s Assistant)

Since last March, I have had an internship with Soiree Event Designs and Bella Bridesmaid in Kansas City.  As a part of my internship I help my bosses on the day of their weddings that they have been planning/coordinating for months.  I also work in their bridesmaid's dress shop during the week.  It has been such an awesome learning experience and I have enjoyed it so much.  There are many perks that go along with the job, including sometimes being able to bring home flowers after the weddings.  I think my roommates love this part of it too ;)

these flowers were by Branches and Twigs (one of my favorite florists in Kansas City) but I rearranged them when I got home

These were from a wedding last weekend at the Midland Theater, the flowers were by Blue Bouquet (another amazing florist in in KC)
beautiful peonies

Having all these beautiful flowers around always cheers up my day. I'm going to keep posting pictures from the weddings I work at. Hope you enjoy!

xoxo,
Callen

Dirty Dirty Fridge!

We Recently had a Roomie bonding experience of cleaning out one of the dirtiest fridges any of us had ever seen!

Here is a quick look at what it looked like.....

This is obviously disgusting.. but this is exactly what happens when you have 7 girls using one fridge..... and possibly a fridge that has NEVER been cleaned out!

It took all 7 of us to figure some things out.... although it was disgusting... it was a lot of fun!

After emptying out the fridge we had to go through all of the condiments we had and decide what got  the boot and what got to stay.

It was a pretty hilarious scene out on our back porch!

All the Condiments that got to stay! We have way too much!

Once the fridge was cleaned out.. this was all we had left!

It was quite the night -cleaning, mopping, and lots of laughter. It is so fun living with your 7 best friends.

Dads Day

This Past weekend we had our last Dads Day for our sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma . It was a weekend full of fun events with our dads.  KU football had an outstanding 31 point comeback in the fourth quarter to win the game.

We were so blessed to have such a beautiful Day !!!

Here are a few of us and our dads at the game!

While some of us went into the game, others went to the bars and some other Dads Day tailgates!

After the game we had a dinner and auction with our sorority sisters at Lawrence Country Club

After we went to Lawrence Country Club we made our way to The Barrel House for some live music and fun!

A few of us at the bar!

" Kappa Dads are the Best Dads!  You can pay to have a quote of the night... we had fun with this all night!

A group of us listening to the music!

The Kappa Dads Got up on Stage and sang ... looks like the YMCA

It was such a great weekend with our Dads. We are all so thankful to have such great dads who love us so much. We love you guys!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

One of the best times of the year in Lawrence is Fall Tailgating. After seeing a recent post from Fly Through Our Window, one of our favorite blogs, we decided to blog about our fun weekends in Lawrence!

On Homecoming we made a bunch of food for friends and family to stop by whenever!

You can never have too much beer! ( helps when the parents are in town and want to pay for it ! )
Our table full of food we made we had bean dip, queso, Artichoke BitesGates BBQ , Oklahoma Joes BBQ, and many more other tasty treats!
This was a tasty and such an easy recipe for brie cheese! It was just brie with chopped up garlic on top and maple syrup . Put in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes and it is such a tasty app!
Later in the evening, a big group of our friends stopped by to play flip cup and other fun game day drinking games!

This was a rare occasion where we stayed at our house the entire day , normally we walk around to others tailgates or go into the game. Look for another post about tailgating in the near future!
